Is this a new feature or what? I see 2 reply notifications that are grayed and pending approval. Is this something that I have to approve or how does that work?

If they are comments on oppo, you can approve them by approving the author or replying to/ staring the comment. On the FP though, I think we have no power.

If you're not grey on the FP, you can approve comments by replying to them. At least that's how it worked last time.

You don't approve the author. You approve their individual comments. If you approve comments often enough, then the editor should ideally approve the author upon seeing the quality of the posts.

You should have a Follow for Oppositelock option. from what I have heard, that will take the commenter out of the gray everywhere.
